Tribal & Community Projects

The experience our team brings to every engagement — drawn from years of hands-on development leadership across utility-scale infrastructure and Tribal energy initiatives.

Spirit Lake Nation — Wind + Tribal Utility Authority · North Dakota

Spirit Lake had renewable energy ambitions but lacked the technical framework and federal funding strategy to move forward. Our team developed a comprehensive DOE grant application for a 1.5 MW wind project alongside a full Tribal Utility Authority roadmap — covering energy analysis, organizational structure, legal and regulatory framework, and distributed generation options. The engagement gave the Nation a clear, fundable path toward energy self-determination.

Mentasta Traditional Council — HUD Infrastructure Grant · Alaska

Developed a successful HUD ICDBG-CARES grant application supporting community infrastructure investment for one of Alaska's remote Native villages.

Taos Pueblo — Energy Feasibility + TUA Framework · New Mexico

Taos Pueblo sought to understand their energy options and the viability of establishing a tribally-owned utility. We delivered a full energy feasibility analysis, TUA organizational framework, and BIA grant application support — translating complex regulatory and financial concepts into a practical roadmap the tribal leadership could act on.

Nambe Pueblo — Solar Financial Modeling + TUA Planning · New Mexico

Supported Nambe Pueblo through solar project financial modeling and the early-stage development of their Tribal Utility Authority (TUA) processes. Delivered a financial model incorporating project debt structures and a detailed TUA process map outlining ideal-state operations.

Sitka Tribe of Alaska — Infrastructure Feasibility · Alaska

Delivered a comprehensive infrastructure feasibility study for the Sitka Tribe, evaluating options and providing actionable recommendations to support long-term community planning.

Middletown Rancheria — CA Challenge Grant + EMDP · California

Supported Middletown Rancheria through a California Challenge Grant application and subsequent Energy Mineral Development Program — helping the Tribe explore their energy and broadband options, and begin development planning.

Circle Native Community — Broadband Feasibility · Alaska

Led broadband infrastructure feasibility and a successful NTBG grant application for a remote Native community with limited connectivity. Delivered a final report documenting findings, funding outcomes, and a deployment roadmap.

Our team has supported energy and infrastructure initiatives for Tribal Nations including Taos Pueblo, Nambe Pueblo, Spirit Lake Nation, Circle Native Community, Sitka Tribe of Alaska, Mentasta Traditional Council, Middletown Rancheria, Pawnee Native Community, Elk Valley Rancheria, Navajo and others across the Southwest, Northern Plains, and Pacific Northwest.
